What is Marble?

Marble is created naturally out of Limestone, Limestone gets recrystallised due to the pressure and heat, over a long period of time within the earths crust, making Marble actually a metamorphosed Limestone Composition. Marble can be distinguished, in comparison to other natural stones by it’s heavy veins and abundance of grains. Marble gets classified into three categories, Magnesium, Dolomite and Calcite. Which category the individual Marble fits into depends upon the quantity of minerals contained in the Marble. This also determines the colours of the Marble, due to the impurities that are present during the Limestone crystallisation process. This wide range of different colours go from the pure white well known calcite varieties to the reddish variety from the haematite contained within.
